Tailoring Your Resume for KPSC & Kerala Government Jobs

Applying for KPSC, PSC clerical, LDC, LGS, or other Kerala government roles is very different from chasing a private-sector job. Selection is rule-based, documents are verified line-by-line, and your resume has to mirror the official notification almost word-for-word. Here's how to do it right — and how joliundo's resume builder helps.

1. Read the official notification first

Before touching your CV, open the latest notification on keralapsc.gov.in and note the exact post name, category number, qualification, age limit, and required documents. Your resume's headline and education section must use the same wording (e.g. "Degree in any discipline from a recognized university").

2. Use a clean, ATS-friendly single-column layout

Kerala government departments and PSU recruiters increasingly screen resumes through ATS software before a human reads them. Skip two-column designs, photos, icons, and tables — they break parsing. The joliundo resume builder ships an ATS-safe Kerala Government template that uses plain headings (Education, Experience, Skills, Certifications) and a single column.

3. Lead with qualifications, not summary

For government applications, put Education first with:

4. List recognised certifications

KKEM, ASAP Kerala, NSDC, and NIELIT certificates carry weight. Add them under a dedicated "Certifications" section with issue date and certificate number. For technical posts, mention any KSITM / Kerala Startup Mission programs.

5. Mention Malayalam language proficiency

Many Kerala state posts explicitly require Malayalam reading, writing, and speaking ability. Add a Languages section: Malayalam (Native), English (Professional), Hindi (Basic). For posts under the Kerala Administrative Tribunal or Secretariat, list typewriting / shorthand speed too.

6. Match the Skills section to the notification

If the notification mentions "MS Office, internet, basic accounting", your Skills section must include exactly those terms. Don't paraphrase. joliundo's JD-Match scanner reads the notification PDF and tells you which keywords your resume is missing.

7. Keep it to 1 page (max 2) and PDF only

Government portals usually accept a single PDF up to 1 MB. Export from joliundo's builder — it produces selectable-text PDFs (not flattened images), which is what verification officers and ATS scanners need.

8. Final checklist before you upload

The Kerala Government template inside our resume builder applies every rule above by default — and the ATS scorer flags anything that would get your application rejected at the parsing stage.
