Tailoring Your Resume for KPSC & Kerala Government Jobs
Applying for KPSC, PSC clerical, LDC, LGS, or other Kerala government roles is very different from chasing a private-sector job. Selection is rule-based, documents are verified line-by-line, and your resume has to mirror the official notification almost word-for-word. Here's how to do it right — and how joliundo's resume builder helps.
1. Read the official notification first
Before touching your CV, open the latest notification on keralapsc.gov.in and note the exact post name, category number, qualification, age limit, and required documents. Your resume's headline and education section must use the same wording (e.g. "Degree in any discipline from a recognized university").
2. Use a clean, ATS-friendly single-column layout
Kerala government departments and PSU recruiters increasingly screen resumes through ATS software before a human reads them. Skip two-column designs, photos, icons, and tables — they break parsing. 3. Lead with qualifications, not summary
For government applications, put Education first with:
- Course name (matching the notification's wording)
- University / Board
- Year of passing & percentage / CGPA
- Register number (helpful for SSLC and Plus Two)
4. List recognised certifications
KKEM, ASAP Kerala, NSDC, and NIELIT certificates carry weight. Add them under a dedicated "Certifications" section with issue date and certificate number. For technical posts, mention any KSITM / Kerala Startup Mission programs.
5. Mention Malayalam language proficiency
Many Kerala state posts explicitly require Malayalam reading, writing, and speaking ability. Add a Languages section: Malayalam (Native), English (Professional), Hindi (Basic). For posts under the Kerala Administrative Tribunal or Secretariat, list typewriting / shorthand speed too.
6. Match the Skills section to the notification

- Name matches your SSLC certificate exactly
